I have nothing but good things to say about my experience purchasing a Connemara sky frost from Martin Design. First, my specific questions to the company were responded to by Martin himself. He took the time to chat with me about several MD watches, which I realize was a special touch. Martin took the time to answer my questions and assisted in getting me into a beautiful Connemara. The shipping was super-fast, as I received the watch within a couple days of purchase. It was packaged very nicely, and it arrived with additional straps, which was unexpected when I made the purchase. The Connemara does not disappoint. It is a beautiful design that screams high-end but is packaged somehow at an accessible price point. I’ve owned hundreds of watches over the years, and this one packs as much punch as nearly any of them. The dial has a pleasant horizontal texture to it, and although I thought the exposed double-balance wheel may be too much, there is still somehow an excellent sense of balance to the asymmetric dial layout with the two sub dials (for time and seconds). Wearing the watch is a delight as it fits my 18.25cm wrist perfectly. I think overall a lot of time was spent getting the design right before going to production. The only small issue with the design is the position of the crown, which is a little cumbersome to access, but winding the watch once the crown is pulled out is not difficult.
Overall, my entire experience, as well as the watch itself, make me a fan of the company and their products. It should be noted that I also own a Supernatural Caturix, which I also adore. I hope they continue to produce new watches with similar thoughtfulness and consideration, and I look forward to new models to come!
