In 2017 Martin Iglody founded the MD Watches Studio. Martin is originally from Kosice, Slovakia and is now based in Cork, Ireland.
Martin has always been deeply passionate about watch design. A self-confessed watch enthusiast, Martin has a sound understanding of the components needed to produce high performance timepieces, at affordable prices. It is this enduring passion that inspires him to create exceptional timepieces that push back the boundaries of conventional aesthetics.
Having fully funded his own watch design studio, Martin combines his great passion for watch design with his graphic design background. Each project starts with a sketch; this then evolves from a detailed concept into the final design. Having a dedicated design studio has enabled Martin to develop his designs from the ground up, into fully working prototypes. As an independent watch designer, Martin produces each of his watches by working hand in hand with talented watchmakers, and through successful partnerships with dependable watch manufacturers based in Europe, and Asia. Martin then applies his expertise and understanding of manufacturing costs, to advance his designs forward. This exacting process transforms the watch from the prototype stage, into a fully finished product.
