Back in 2017, Martin Iglody founded MD Watches Studio with a simple idea — to create watches he genuinely loved. Originally from Košice, Slovakia, Martin now calls Cork, Ireland home, where he continues to bring his ideas to life.
Martin has always had a deep passion for watch design. As a true watch enthusiast, he understands what goes into making a timepiece not just look great, but perform beautifully — all while keeping it accessible. That passion is what drives him to design watches that feel a little different, pushing beyond the usual and exploring new aesthetics.
Starting his own studio from the ground up, Martin combines his love for watches with his background in graphic design. Every piece begins as a sketch, gradually evolving into a refined concept and, eventually, a finished watch. Having full creative control allows him to shape each design from the very first idea all the way through to a working prototype.
As an independent designer, Martin works closely with skilled watchmakers and trusted manufacturing partners across Europe and Asia. By staying closely involved in every step — from design to production — he ensures each watch meets his standards in both quality and value. The result is a collection of thoughtfully designed timepieces, created with care, precision, and a genuine love for the craft.
